Description:
Painted fir wardrobe, dated 1825 and originating from the Tyrolean Alps. The solid and symmetrical structure features an upper frame decorated with floral friezes and rests on onion feet painted in red.
The entire front surface is punctuated by vertical panels painted with vases of flowers, arranged in a rigorous but decorative manner, on a light blue background bordered in coral red. We also find other floral decorations on the uprights and sides.
On the upper band, an inscription in white Gothic characters on a red background recites a popular proverb, the meaning of which is: "God makes the sun shine on honest men."
In the center, there appear what are probably the owner's initials ("INNM") and the date "1825", traced with elegant calligraphy.
