The work is in excellent condition.
The large panel has been professionally consolidated using parquetry performed in Florence.
The pictorial surface has also been fixed.
This extremely elegant large 16th-century panel depicts Saint Barbara seated on a throne, displaying her iconographic attributes. Her left hand holds the tower, and her right hand is on her chest with the palm of martyrdom.
The Saint is portrayed full-length in a solemn pose at the center of the scene. The drapes that descend from the corners to her sides enhance the regality of the protagonist.
The painting is truly of extreme elegance with a chromatic range of rare refinement and a perfectly calibrated combination of colors.
