The painting was recently purchased on the antiquarian market as a possible work by Pietro Paolo Raggi, a Genoese artist from the second half of the 17th century, who worked between Genoa, Turin, and Bergamo, where he settled after 1690. During the restoration, the signature "Rosa" emerged along the left side of the canvas, perhaps to be understood as Rosa Raggi, daughter of the more famous Pietro Paolo, who took over her father's workshop during the last...
