PAIR OF WOOD AND GILDED IRON SCONCES LATE 18TH CENTURY
Description:
Splendid pair of 6-light sconces, made of gilded iron and carved and gilded wood. The sconces feature a hand-forged wrought iron rose to be fixed to the wall, which supports the arms. The rose and arms of the sconces are finely decorated in a floral style that evokes intertwined vine shoots. These elegant wall lights were typical of late 18th century Tuscan villas, and are still of great value and refinement today, capable of adding a touch of class and antiquity to the environment in which they will be placed. The sconces are already wired and in excellent condition. Tuscan manufacture from the late 18th century.
