Antique Bronze Palm Holder Vases with 18th Century Palm Leaves, 1700s Era
Dimensions: : 77 cm cm
Description:
Description: Important pair of patinated bronze palm holder vases surmounted by sumptuous decorative palm leaves in openwork bronze sheet dating back to the 19th century. The vases, probably from the mid-19th century, feature elegant volute handles in neoclassical style and are mounted on a quadrangular base. The upper palms are an authentic testimony of eighteenth-century sacred art and are made of thin bronze sheet finely worked with floral and phytomorphic motifs with a strong scenic impact. These objects were used in the Tridentine liturgy, particularly during the Easter period, to contain and present the blessed branches of palm or olive typically placed on the sides of the main altar or on columns to emphasize the solemnity of the rite and the symbolism of the resurrection. Their conservation and the integrity of the original parts make them pieces of great historical, as well as artistic, value. Ideal for collectors of sacred art, for prestigious liturgical environments, or to enhance classic and museum furnishing contexts. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity Dimensions: Vase base cm 9 x cm 9 Height without palms cm 21 Height with palms cm 77 x 30 Weight about 2 kg each Price 2700 the pair
