EXTRAORDINARY NEO-RENAISSANCE DINING ROOM IN SOLID SCULPTED AND CARVED MAHOGANY - work signed and dated (1930) by the distinguished Romagna master cabinetmaker GIOACHINO MELUZZI (Imola, 1884 - ibid, 1953)

Extraordinary Neo-Renaissance style Dining Room. Solid mahogany wood and various woods. Numerous and high-quality sculptures with angels and putti, depicting auspicious motifs and symbols of abundance and prosperity, embellish the ensemble. The author, the distinguished Romagna master cabinetmaker, the native of Imola GIOACHINO MELUZZI (Imola, 1884 - ibid, 1953), was one of the leading representatives of classical cabinetmaking in Emilia-Romagna with frequent and well-calibrated references to the Quattro-Cinquecento tradition of sculpture, especially in the Tuscan area. The room, which is offered as a whole as it was commissioned from the Master in 1930 (the author's date and signature are visible at the base of the bas-relief depicting the Madonna and Child) is composed of: 1) Madonna and Child: mahogany bas-relief sculpture dated February 8, 1930 at the bottom left and signed G. Meluzzi at the bottom right. Height cm. 45 - Width cm. 70 2) Table with green marble top: in solid mahogany with important sculptures depicting angels. Height cm. 81 - Length cm. 180 - Width cm. 64 3) Eight "Savonarola style" chairs: in solid mahogany with leather seat and backrest. Height cm. 83 - Width cm. 64 - Depth cm. 58 4) Side table: in solid mahogany with sculptures of angels and fruit. Height cm. 79 - Length cm. 100 - Width cm. 64 5) Important sideboard with sculptures: in solid mahogany with magnificent auspicious putti carrying fruit carved in the round on the uprights. Height cm. 140 - Width cm. 220 - Depth cm. 64 6) Large display cabinet: in solid mahogany, with putti carved on the 2 side uprights, with 2 doors with beveled glass, a drawer below and numerous decorative cartouches on the entire front and sides. Height cm. 234 - Width cm. 140 - Depth cm. 55 7) Important wall-mounted pendulum clock: in solid mahogany with auspicious angel carved on the front with his face turned towards the dial. German 4/4 mechanism marked Kienzle. It rings in the tones of Big Ben. At the top the Latin inscription "Ruit Hora", time flows.
