Cacciapuoti Manufacture, "Tropical Fishes", signed, 1930s  Translated
Description:
Cacciapuoti Manufacture, "Tropical Fishes", signed, 1930s Sculpture in majolica terracotta created in the 1930s by Manifattura Cacciapuoti, a historic Neapolitan factory that later moved to Milan, famous for its ceramic creations with a Deco and naturalistic style. The composition represents a pair of tropical fish, probably angelfish. In glazed terracotta (majolica), with a matte finish and soft colors ranging from mother-of-pearl white to aqua green, up to touches of blue, gray and lilac. Cacciapuoti was one of the leading Italian manufacturers of the early 20th century, founded in Naples by Giuseppe Cacciapuoti and later moved to Milan. Its works were in high demand both in Italy and abroad for their technical quality and decorative taste. In the 1930s, production became increasingly oriented towards Deco subjects and inspired by exotic or marine nature, often treated with a scenographic and dynamic taste. Measurements: H 50 cm.  Translated
