Louis XVI chest of drawers veneered in walnut and rosewood with elegant light wood threads, Piedmont, late 18th century
Description:
Veneered in walnut and rosewood with elegant light wood threads, the piece of furniture stands out for its rigorous and slender structure, with truncated-pyramidal fluted legs ending in bronze tips. The top is in original shaped gray Bardiglio marble. The fronts of the drawers are marked by inlaid geometric frames and embellished with chiseled bronze mouthpieces and round handles.
The three-drawer construction, with a double central front, is typical of late 18th-century subalpine production.
