Louis XIV mirror in carved and gilded wood, Rome, early 18th century

This rare and refined mirror stands out for the refined mixtilinear shape of the profile and for the presence, at the top, of two cherub heads sculpted with lively expressiveness, a typical element of the Roman production of the time. Small mirror, characterized by a frame carved with foliate motifs, curls and cartouches, concluded at the bottom by an ornamental mask. The original gold leaf gilding has an antique patina that enhances its authenticity. The contemporary glass, slightly oxidized, retains all the suggestion of time. Width cm. 41 height cm. 47
