Large Venetian burr walnut chest of drawers, late 17th - early 18th century
Description:
Impressive large Venetian chest of drawers, made between the late 17th and early 18th centuries, most likely intended for a noble or palatial context.
The cabinet, curved on the front and with straight sides, measures 145 cm in width, 71 cm in depth and 99 cm in height, standing out for its elegance, proportions and executive refinement.
Entirely veneered in burr walnut and other precious woods, it presents extraordinary attention to detail: molded frames also veneered, refined herringbone pattern in the drawers, shaped top with a beak-shaped edge.
The original bronze cast handles are finely chiseled and depict two facing lions, a rare and visually striking decorative motif. The internal bellows is also contemporary. The locks are original, while the keys are missing.
The piece of furniture is in excellent condition, with a beautiful antique patina and minimal signs of aging. A work of high Venetian cabinetmaking, perfect for important environments or demanding collectors.
