Vienna 1815 ca. Refined and rare game table of the Empire/early Viennese Biedermeier period, from the circle of Joseph Danhauser or perhaps himself.
Description:
Refined and rare game table of the Empire/early Viennese Biedermeier period, from the circle of Joseph Danhauser or perhaps himself. Vienna 1815 ca. Veneered in mirrored mahogany feather, with elegant threads and details in maple wood. The "futuristically pushed" line and the use of the precious head mahogany essence, rarely used in Vienna except in the very early Biedermeier period and in the Empire period and by the best cabinetmakers, bring it closer to the area of the great Danhauser. The table opens like a book, rotating on itself and showing the game board in fine leather. It is a work of wooden integrity with a museum standard shellac finish. Patina and signs of aging corresponding to antiquity. Measures cm.83 high, top width 89, depth 46.5 open 93x89. With sober, original and elegant lines that "conquer" time. Perfect also for pairing with high-end modern design in a combination of refined and prestigious elegance. In accordance with the provisions of the New Code of Cultural Heritage, the selling company provides, simultaneously with the sale, a detailed written photographic guarantee of the originality and provenance of the works sold. The data with which the works are described and then contained in the written guarantees are expressed determinations resulting from accurate and documented technical/historical/artistic investigations, even of expert importance.
