Original 20th-century patina. Early 20th century period.
The work expresses strength, elegance, and physical agility. The sculpture is signed on the paw M. Leducq.
Leducq Marcel Michel Edouard Marie (1879-1955) was a French sculptor active in the period between the 1920s and 1930s.
His teachers were Mercié and Peter. He participated in the Salon des Artistes Français and in 1909 he obtained an "Honorable Mention".
He was an animal sculptor, who expressed the power and agility typical of the Art Deco period.
The sculpture proposed here is in antimony, a zinc-based alloy.
Antimony statue with black marble base, it is in good condition, 1920s/30s Art Déco.
