This elegant console table was made during the Louis XV period, 18th century, in France.
It consists of a top with a curved profile made of lacquered wood imitating Verde Alpi marble. The under-top band is very particular, made of finely carved and openwork wood. Two bands in lacquered wood in shades of ivory, with a gilded reserve, are connected by gilded wood sculptures in a floral and Baroque-style leaf design. Two legs are attached to the front corners, curvilinear and curved, lacquered and with gilded decorations in the shape of flowers, volutes and leaves. The legs terminate with volutes and curls and are connected at the bottom by a curved crossbar, in lacquered and gilded wood, on top of which stands a basket full of gilded flowers that fall downwards, to decorate the band.
This console table, very bright and decorative, can easily be placed in various rooms, such as entrances and corridors but also living rooms or bedrooms, both next to antique and modern furnishings.
