Louis XV wall desk with twelve-drawer cartonnier, Genoa mid-18th century
Description:
Veneered and inlaid with kingwood and rosewood, with three drawers on the front and a leather top. The cartonnier, whose drawers have the same concentric mirror veneering as the desk's drawers, was used to organize papers, documents, and small objects, and was sometimes associated with desks or wall bureaux.
