Description:
Vienna, c. 1800-1810. Rare "jardiniere" table (used in castles of the time to support vases with flowers and plants) from the First Viennese Empire, in practically intact condition. It is veneered in mahogany feather. The feral legs (original) are in cast bronze, chiseled and fire-gilded. The top is made of stone (sandstone) and is also original. The perforated edge of the top is in gilded wood leaf (restored / posterior). In practically intact condition, consolidated and French polished on the first patina with museum standard technique. Of sober elegance with lyre legs with perfect proportions. Diameter cm. 81, height cm. 81. In the photo at the bottom of the page the original drawing of the time, by Joseph Danhauser, which depicts the project sketch of a similar piece of furniture - very similar, and its relative use. With masterful shellac buffer finish on the first patina with museum standard technique. In accordance with the provisions of the New Code of Cultural Heritage, the selling company provides, at the time of sale, a detailed written photographic guarantee of originality and provenance of the works sold.
