Neoclassical Inlaid Bedside Table, Italy, Last Quarter of the 18th Century  Translated
Description:
Late 18th century Neoclassical bedside table from Lombardy, Italy. The piece is veneered in rosewood, maple, boxwood, and other light-colored woods for the inlays. Both the front, which houses the door, and the sides feature a central recessed panel in rosewood, with an octagonal reserve in the center enclosed by a molded and inlaid frame. The reserves on a maple background feature architectural inlays with capriccios, temples, statues, and figures. The panels are set within a double frame with a brass molding and rosewood veneer arranged end grain and herringbone pattern. An inlaid frame at the base defines the four truncated pyramid legs, and another supports the top, which houses a green alpine marble top. It presents losses and restorations, with walnut interiors. The piece is comparable to the production of Giovanni Maffezzoli, though the inlay work does not quite reach the quality of the Cremonese master. Product Condition: Furniture in good condition, showing slight signs of wear. We try to present the actual state of the furniture as completely as possible with the photos. If some details are not clear from the photos, what is reported in the description applies. Dimensions (cm): Height: 87 Width: 57 Depth: 42 ANMOCO0265628  Translated
