Six neoclassical lacquered wood chairs, Turin, late 18th century
Description:
Six neoclassical lacquered wood chairs, Turin, late 18th century Measurements: 4 stools: L 47 x 47 x Seat H 52; 2 benches: L 82 x 46.5 x Seat H 52 Price: Private negotiation Item accompanied by a certificate of authenticity The six seats comprise four stools and two benches made in Turin during the neoclassical period, towards the end of the 18th century. The structure is made of wood lacquered in ochre yellow, light blue, and ivory white. All seats feature a carving that designs raised frames that create decoration and movement to the band under the seat. The legs originate with a double-flattened sphere element from which the fluted and inverted cone-shaped leg departs. They are finished on all four sides and can therefore be placed in the center of rooms without necessarily having to be placed against walls. This is a set that is quite rare to find on the market due to the number of seats it comprises. Very elegant and decorative, characterized by a pleasant light coloring, they can be easily inserted into multiple environments, such as entrances and corridors, living rooms and studies, or bedrooms. Furthermore, the neoclassical taste adapts very well to antique or modern furnishings.
