Woman's desk/secretaire, likely produced by Joseph Danhauser. Neoclassical / early Viennese Biedermeier period. 1810 -15. City of Vienna; attributable to the circle of Joseph Danhauser due to the construction technique, the quality of the wood used, shape, and proportions. Veneered in the finest quality blond walnut burl, with masterfully mirrored panels. Refined maple wood threading, details in animal bone. Interiors in bird's-eye maple wood, with a leather writing surface. Type of finish: French polish, with shellac and pad. BIBLIOGRAPHY: Pressler - Straub Biedermeier Moebel. MEASUREMENTS: height cm 92, width cm 99, depth cm 73.
