Elegant and refined Friulian chest of drawers with a shaped front with four drawers, centrally curved in an elegant early 18th-century style. It measures 100 x 137 x 60 cm and is decorated with inlays of various interconnected woods in walnut.
The incessant alternation of undulation substantiates the framework of this marvelous and unusual piece of furniture; it is precisely the masterful quality of the carving, combined with details of refined cabinetmaking, such as the skillful use of thuja wood on the sides or in the upper part that follows the fluid linear rhythm of the walnut surfaces, that accredits the geographical area, in addition to all the head woods that are also found inside the piece of furniture.
Highly detailed chest of drawers distinguished by the elegance of its shapes, lines, and the creativity of its execution.
The superb central movement, according to the Venetian compositional style, is combined with the use of high-quality materials and a robust structure, creating a uniqueness that is truly sui generis.
Significant also is the consonance of these types of decoration that develop with ample design, involving the entire front, sides, and top of the piece of furniture.
The fact remains that this curved chest of drawers with a refined and consistent decorative inlay is a great example of 18th-century Italian cabinetmaking.
