Eugénie Claire Gruyer Brielman (1837-1921) was born in Grenoble, studied at the Académie Julian in Paris, where she was a student of Brielmann and Serres. From 1878 she exhibited at the "Salon des Artistes Français" in Paris.
In 1896 and 1900 she received an honorable mention at the "Exposition Universelle de Paris" and
finally a third class medal in 1899.
Some paintings by this artist are kept in the Grenoble museum.
The oil painting is dressed with a gilded frame from the 19th century.
The oil painting and frame have been carefully and professionally restored.
