Su cofinu, ancient Sardinian box with lid with orange and black S'impanna decoration

Description: Ancient and interesting Sardinian box (cm.32; h.12) with a slightly domed lid called Su cofinu, interesting because of the colors. The warp is made with wheat stalks and the weft in rush strings with inserts of orange and black cloth (s'impanna) applied during the weaving of the interweaving. It has a decoration with Su ballu tundu (photo n°4) in the lower wall of the basket while in the lid it is decorated with zoomorphic figures (photo n°5 and 6). The bottom measures cm.25. It is in a good state of preservation.
