Technique called "sommersione" or "sommerso"
"Sommerso" is a form of Murano glass art, obtained with heat, which features layers of contrasting colors.

The object consists of various layers of different thickness and colors. This process is a popular technique for vases, and is sometimes used with great skill to create sculptures.
