Six oil paintings on canvas applied to poplar panels taken from scenes of the Mysteries of the Rosary made by an artistic workshop active in the pontifical state. Highly probable that this workshop was formed under the influence of the Marches master Carlo Maratta (1625 Camerano - 1713 Rome) during the second half of the 17th century.
The scenes of the mysteries of the Rosary are devotional works usually placed in chapels. The scenes of the mysteries of the Rosary are originally fifteen: 5 joyful mysteries, 5 luminous mysteries and 5 sorrowful mysteries.
In this small collection there are 6 + 1, the seventh is a nativity scene that is framed within an original 17th century frame lacquered in faux marble and placed under glass. This is published in another article but is part of the group we are proposing.
The dimensions of the ovals are 33 x 26cm. The size of the Nativity with frame is 56 x 46cm.
The paintings are in excellent condition.
We provide a guarantee of authenticity on the works with the sale.
