The remarkable elegance in the description of the protagonists and the serene composure of their expressions convey a sense of solemn sacredness.

The "Holy Family" with the addition of Saint Anne is also quite rare in Salvi's repertoire, who prefers single Marian depictions and with the Child.
We believe the work is very interesting as well as of excellent quality. The colors used are a prerogative of his always-sparse palette, where the incomparable bright blue that distinguishes the production of his workshop stands out. Finally, a note on the Author's incredible ability to create a play of light and shadow emphasized by the perfection of the sfumato and the dark background. The Virgin and Child, in the foreground, are irradiated by an aura of supernatural light, while the figures of Anne and Joseph, on the sides and in the background, are portrayed in shadow, illuminated by a soft light.
