Last quarter of the 19th century, Bonniot Martorel & Bergeron Mantel Clock Bronze and porcelain, height 59 cm The clock features a vase-shaped case with ram's head handles topped by a bouquet of flowers: supporting the case is an articulated shaped base with volute uprights. On the dial, which bears the production mark of the elaborate object, Bonniot Martorel & Bergeron, the hours are indicated with Roman numerals while the minutes are indicated with Arabic numerals. The clock features a two-train movement with hour and half-hour striking on a bell. The manufacturer of the object, which was based in Marseille, was well known in the late 19th century for the production of Art Nouveau and Neoclassical style clocks and furnishings.
