Three-seater sofa, in carved and lacquered wood, France, mid-18th century, Louis XV period. The wooden structure, carved with reserves, curls, and raised floral decorations, is lacquered in shades of ivory and light blue. The backrest has a wavy and curvilinear profile. Its enveloping shape extends laterally to provide greater comfort. The armrests, with fabric-covered padding in the center to create a comfortable support, are connected to the seat with arched elements. The seven legs, wavy and curvilinear, are carved and lacquered in two colors. The wooden structure is very light and particularly decorative. The three-seater sofa is upholstered with modern fabric, in good condition, with naturalistic decoration. It is completed by three cushions upholstered with the same fabric. It is possible to combine the sofa with a group of four armchairs, belonging to the same living room, with similar design and carvings, with the same colors, and with two other armchairs very similar in color, shape, and carvings, all upholstered with the same fabric. The sofa, possibly accompanied by the armchairs, is very refined and elegant, a great decoration for a living room, an entrance hall, a study, or a bedroom. The light color of the lacquers used and the type of fabric with which it is presented give this seat a lot of light, making it suitable next to antique or modern furniture.
