THE HOLY FAMILY SPANISH SCHOOL OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY COPY OF THE FAMOUS PAINTING BY BARTOLOME' ESTEBAN MURILLO
Description:
Large painting from the Spanish school of the second half of the 19th century "Copy of the famous painting The Holy Family by BARTOLOME' ESTEBAN MURILLO," which is one of the author's most important works. It depicts the domestic scene of the Holy Family, where three figures and a small dog are represented. The focal point of the painting is a male figure "Saint Joseph" sitting on a chair, covered on his legs by a blanket, with his little son "Baby Jesus" leaning against his leg, holding a small bird in his hand and looking down as if they are playing with the depicted puppy. On the left of the painting there is a woman "Mary" also seated, holding a ball of wool in her hand that she is spinning and with a serene gaze and face she watches her loved ones what they do. A sweet life of family scene that exalts the symbol of the family highlighting the human warmth protagonist of the work, which dominates the painting despite the dark colors of the surrounding dark room represented. The painting has been relined in the past and has also had some minor restoration work in sections, but is in good condition and as you can see from the photos it is unframed.
