Louis XV desk from the first half of the 19th century
Description:
Important Louis XV style desk with five drawers, freestanding, from the first half of the 19th century, entirely veneered in bois de rose, with movement on all sides with double movement both in the horizontal and vertical part, typical of the Louis XV style. It has a shaped writing surface covered in original black leather from the period. It is enriched by beautiful gilded bronze garnishes on most of it and embellished on the two sides with two elegant porcelain plates stamped on the back "see photo" not very legible but seem to be by Jacob Petit, decorated on a white background with floral decoration surrounded by a gold border in relief and externally by a blue border typical of porcelain of that period.
