Rare noblewoman's vanity, from high Viennese cabinet-making of the 18th century veneered and finely inlaid with figurative motifs, in burr walnut, cherry, ash, maple, plum, walnut and poplar root and other fruit woods, in its original patina. The figurative inlay of rare beauty and masterful quality is made with a mixed technique (pyrograph, engravings, inlays in painted wood, brush). It depicts gallant scenes of a noblewoman fought over in a duel between knights in the base, while in the rear part of the reclining top that houses the mirror (also original), there is the winner sitting in front of the lady who is offering her hand. Beside her is a graceful little dog, typical companion of the nobility of the time. Other decorative motifs including pine cones and acanthus enrich the scene. With a drawer where jewelry and necessaires were stored. Work of high Viennese cabinet-making from the first half of the 18th century; of great charm and very 'personal'.
