Description: Elegant Victorian silver plated cutlery warmer dating back to the late 19th century, produced by the renowned English manufacturer T. Bros & Co of Sheffield, as indicated by the hallmark under the base. This splendid piece is a rare semi-sphere tilting cup enriched by a refined decoration on the dome and supported by four finely chiseled legs. Originally, this item was used as a cutlery warmer: it was filled with hot water to warm the cutlery before serving, keeping them warm during the meal, especially in large Victorian houses where kitchens were often far from dining rooms. Today, this object could be a fascinating addition to a collection or a refined piece of furniture.
