Description:
Important archaic "jukebox prototype", antique coin-operated horn gramophone, by the manufacturer Ernst Machov of Berlin. The highly complex mechanism is activated by inserting the correct coin (weighed by precise counterweights to prevent counterfeits). Once the coin has been inserted and the machine has been wound with the crank, the arm automatically moves down, plays the record, and at the end automatically returns to its starting position, locking itself and waiting for a new coin. At the end of the day, the coffee shop owner of the time opened the special drawer with the key and collected the coins. Item in excellent condition, intact and functioning. Mahogany case with delicate Jungenstil motifs. Germany 1880-95. Height with horn 74 cm. Mobile measurements only 48 x 35 cm.
