Very rare complete deck of 21 fascinating tarot playing cards from the second third of the 19th century, with wonderful illustrations. The deck is in visibly very good condition for its age, with a patina and signs of use consistent with its age. Austro-Hungary, second third of the 19th century. Near the miniature depicting the Hofburg in Vienna (imperial residence of the Habsburgs), the symbol of the Austro-Hungarian eagle and the words in Hungarian "szerencse fel" = fortune and prosperity. Height of each individual card cm. 13.7. Of high collector's interest or an original idea for a prestigious gift. They can be framed and hung on the wall. The photo of a matrix for similar cards from the first half of the 19th century at the bottom of the page (From "Das K.K. Nationalfabriksproduktenkabienett, Technik und design des Biedermeier", Technisches Museum Wien, p. 172). Not marked, but probably the manufacturer is Ferdinand Piatnik, at the time with offices in Vienna and Budapest.
