Description: Rare mid-19th century Louis Philippe Neapolitan mirror in gilded and carved wood. The particular concave-convex shape ends with a finely sculpted crest with rocaille motifs. The 24kt gold leaf gilding rests on a layer of bole, a substance used as a base on which to lay the gold leaf. The mercury mirror is original to the period. Condition: Excellent condition.
