The pair of coffee tables was made around the 1950s. The structure is made of wrought iron with the four legs connected at the top and bottom by crosspieces and quadrangular joints that echo the design of the feet. The rectangular top is made of wood lacquered to resemble faux marble. The decoration simulates a top made of inlays of the finest marbles and hard stones in a sampled manner, i.e., different in color, in a style characteristic of the Roman area.
The coffee tables, which are very decorative, are characterized by their particular versatility of use. They can in fact be inserted in any furnishing context, displayed in pairs or individually. They can also be placed side by side to become a single surface. If the long side is placed in contact, a coffee table with an almost quadrangular appearance is formed, suitable for the center of a room, in front of sofas. By bringing the short sides closer together, a long surface is created, perfect if placed, for example, against a wall, behind a sofa or in places where a narrow and elongated surface is needed. The trompe l'oeil lacquered top in faux marble gives greater lightness to the coffee tables, making them more easily handled and therefore also movable as needed.
For their use, it is advisable to equip them with a glass top to protect the lacquer of the top.
