Rare painted chest from the 18th century, likely around the middle of the century, in conditions of wooden integrity and pictorial originality, from Lower Austria, cm 125 x 66 deep and 76 high. Refined Baroque-style panel motifs with elegant vines and Rococo curls. With a warm antique patina and refined motifs painted in vivid colors. The top is original. The paint on the top/seat is worn, understandably, as it was used as a seat for centuries. The piece is in conditions of wooden integrity. Original hinges, escutcheon, and working lock. Key included. Excellent for insertion in a whimsical, modern, and refined context. Piece of wooden integrity with slight and pleasant satin French polish for protective purposes, signs of age and patina consistent with antiquity.
