Antique Italian majolica soup tureen, early 1800s, with neoclassical decorations, attributed to Domenico Marchitto

Description: Interesting round Italian soup tureen (h. 23 cm) attributed to the Domenico Marchitto factory, made of majolica around the early 1800s: decorated in neoclassical style, rests on a circular base of cm. Ø13. The body measures cm. Ø23, the upper opening cm. Ø18, from handle to handle cm.27. The interlocking lid (cm. Ø24) with a spherical grip (cm. Ø4.5) has been reattached invisibly. The bowl (photo n°5), apart from the crackle, has a threading (not broken) but the beauty and period of the soup tureen is such that it must be accepted in the state in which it is.
