Berlin, first half of the 19th century, possibly in the circle of Carl Wanschaff, typical of that provenance, conforming to the Empire style of the area inspired by Carl Friedrich Schinkel. Rare Empire style Jardiniere veneered in mahogany feather and mahogany burl on a frame of oak and fir essences, in original patina. Refined lost-wax cast bronzes. Removable brass flower holder compartment. Original mirror. In practically intact wooden condition, restored with shellac finish using a museum standard tampon technique on the original patina. Patina and signs of use consistent with the era. This elegant type of furniture, placed against the walls of castles and patrician residences, was used to store plants and flower vases. Dimensions: cm 53.5 depth, 91 width, 89 height.
