A work of high cabinetmaking, of absolute integrity, masterfully veneered in mahogany feather, satin wood interiors with a sliding top that still retains the original leather. With shellac finish applied with a pad using a museum standard technique. A brilliant mobile mechanism allows the extraction of the front, "revealing" the secret compartment with drawers and sliding top. The top opens like a book and is veneered in mahogany on the underside as well. Decorative details and brass inserts, as also used in David Roetgen's furniture. French polished with shellac using a museum standard finish on first patina and absolute integrity. Measures cm. 94 wide, 46.5 deep when closed (93 when the top is open like a book), 81 high.
