Bronze plaque with cloisonné enamel decoration depicting Saint Anne.
Description:
Bronze plaque decorated with cloisonné enamel depicting Saint Anne giving her blessing. It is a rather unusual object, in terms of style and colors, reminiscent of the famous productions of Romanesque and medieval Limoges art, but whose depiction style suggests a later, fully Renaissance age. Therefore, it is not easy to give a geographical location to this liturgical artifact made in a European or possibly Northern Italian sumptuary art workshop during the 16th century, which followed the enamel productions of Limoges.
Measurements: 8.5cm wide x 16cm high.
