Elegant and solid roll-top desk (123x79 cm) of English origin, made of solid mahogany in the early 1900s by the furniture maker John Heywood of Manchester, a well-known manufacturer of office furniture: two rows of four drawers per side for a total of eight. The last two at the bottom are higher (h. 29 cm; photo n.1). Two pull-out drop-leafs on the sides. Inside, a beautiful work surface, two small drawers and 10 card holder compartments (square shaped): in the central part, the arch finishes conceal two pen holder drawers. The height to the work surface is 78 cm, the maximum height to the upper surface is 119 cm. Having been recently restored, it is in excellent condition: in photographs n.3, 4 and 5 it is possible to see the restoration of the top and the two pull-out shelves.
