Antique display cabinet, painted, signed, gilded bronzes, Napoleon III era, 19th century.
Beautiful and large display cabinet in select mahogany wood, with a distinctive humpback top and finish on the surface, and a triumph of highly refined chiselled and gilded "jewel" bronzes (It is not easy to find high-quality furniture like this due to the very high quality of the bronzes and the level of cabinetmaking). The panels below are oil-painted on wood, and the central one is signed by the painter with a gallant scene. The internal upholstery has been completely replaced with sea-blue velvet, a typical iridescent colour of the period of great elegance.
