Oil on canvas. Venetian school of the 18th century. The portrait depicts a young woman wearing everyday clothing, but embellished with spotted fur trim; curiously, she ostentatiously displays with her arm raised a fur muff slipped onto one hand, probably a whim to emphasize a fashion of the time. The painting shows signs of restoration, with preservation of the original canvas, albeit re-mounted on a new frame. It is presented in a contemporary oval frame, but surmounted by a wooden frieze added at a later date.
