Description:
Antique and rare hand-wound pocket watch (cm. Ø 5.8 without the crown) Roskopf movement: original hands, porcelain dial with black Roman numerals and red Arabic numerals (24 hours). Swiss made, with a double-cased back closure: the inner case, with glass, protects the mechanism (photo n°9) which bears the coupled inscriptions Repasseè - repasado and en second - segunda mano. Georges Frédéric Roskopf (1813 – 1889) was a German inventor naturalized Swiss, inventor of the movement for pocket watches that takes its name from him as the Roskopf escapement. Further back we find a decor made with a chisel that represents a delightful racing car of the period, framed by floral and leafy decorations, from which a radiant design starts (photo n°1,3,4): it could be an automobile prize. It is in good condition: having been recently serviced it is perfectly working and under warranty.
