Oil on panel painting measuring 40 x 30 cm without frame and 48 x 38 with frame depicting a high-ranking bishop from the Venetian school of the first half of the 18th century.
A very curious and refined painting representing an important religious figure of the time; the colors of the robe and stole around the neck are very delicate, mirroring the colors of the background, against which this figure stands out, denoting humanity, goodness, and a sense of loyalty following the most intimate dictates of the Christian religion.
The small table with its bright green cloth and well-drawn and colored objects on top is also interesting, most likely bearing some symbolic value.
The well-tapered hands, together with the kind and at the same time serious gaze, are also characteristics of this important figure.
The beauty of Venetian painting is noteworthy; even when the dimensions are small, the colors manage to express themselves strongly, giving us a sense of peace and harmony, creating a true connection between the character represented here and the viewer.
