Saint Peter is captured in the dramatic moment of repentance, following the famous episode of the denial of Christ, to which the rooster alludes.
Pathos is expressed in plain, explicit language: Peter turns his tearful gaze to the sky, invoking forgiveness, with the intention of arousing emotional adherence and acceptance of the evangelical teaching in the viewer.
The painted glass, in excellent condition, is placed among the seventeenth-century devotional works of the Neapolitan area, with stylistic features that refer to the work of Francesco Fracanzano.
