Venice, the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal - SOLD  Translated
Description:
Eugenio Bonivento - known as "Zeno" (Chioggia, 1880 – Milan, 1956) Oil on canvas - Contemporary frame - Canvas cm. 70 x 50 - Frame cm. 85 x 65 - Magnificent autograph work by Eugenio "Zeno" Bonivento, one of the most interesting interpreters of the lagoon landscape in the early decades of the 20th century. The painting depicts the famous Rialto Bridge that crosses the Grand Canal and joins the two banks with a perspective of great effect, connecting the unmistakable Venetian palaces. The author fills the canvas with color and movement, with the characters and boats described in the most characteristic ways of Venetian painting. His views, as is evident in this painting, are particularly lively and offer a perfect image of the characteristics of the City, drawing from the repertoire of the great Masters of the 18th century, revisited in a theatrical way, typical of Venetian folklore. In this work of great commitment, the author expresses all his skills as a view painter acquired in the full maturity of his artistic career. It is certainly a painting made to furnish a Venetian palace, made with the utmost care for every detail, compared to the more "fast" works intended for the tourist market. The beautiful sculpted and gilded frame is the original one.  Translated
