Canvas 46 x 39 cm
Frame 57 x 50 cm
Excellent condition
A splendid pair of paintings with all the pictorial and chromatic characteristics of the most elegant Venetian landscape painting of the 18th century.
The particularly harmonious compositions and the remarkable interplay of light between the shaded areas of the dense vegetation and the luminous backgrounds are highly effective and create an excellent visual effect for the viewer.
These are evidently works of a very high standard that are easily associated with the production of the Venetian Master Giuseppe Zais, a great interpreter of landscape painting of the 'Golden Age' of Venice. Typical of his repertoire are the refined pale blue hues of the mountains in the distance, which create a remarkable effect of depth, and the figures described with skillful brushstrokes in the most evident Venetian tradition.
The two paintings are of a beautiful size, complete with their splendid gilded frames and are in excellent condition.
A certificate of authenticity will be issued with all the characteristics of the work, drawn up by a professional antique dealer registered with FIMA.
