Pair of oval silver plated serving dishes with decorated and chiseled edges, produced for the shipping company, White Star Line 1st Class. They belonged to the production intended for first class, as can be seen from the flag mark with the star. The gadrooned edges are enriched by a chiseled floral design.

On the back there are the Elkington marks "A" plate with the best quality, 28651 model number, the 6 marks refer to Elkington & C0., R583653 product registration number, "Z" refers to 1911. On one there is the paper label of the jeweler Serra, via Margutta, Rome which identifies it as "old english plate"
The White Star Line was a British shipping company founded in 1845 with the name White Star, among the best known of the period. Among the most famous ships of the company we find the RMS Olympic, RMS Titanic, which went down in history because of the tragic sinking and the HMHS Britannic.
