Small Mannerist ebony frame with marble inlays, Italy, 16th - early 17th century. The molded perimeter features projecting sections at the corners and 4 reserves of veined purple inlaid marble. An octagonal molded frame is placed at the center, originally adorned with 4 small turned elements at the sides, 2 of which are present with missing parts, while 2 are completely absent. It has an oval opening. Restoration interventions from the late 19th century added the oak backing and replaced some small ebony frames.
