Le Roy et Fils in Paris. Amilcare makes young Hannibal swear eternal hatred to the Romans.  Translated
Description:
Mantel clock, known as "Parigina". Parisian manufacture from the second quarter of the 19th century. Mercury-gilded and chiseled cast bronze. Dimensions: height 54x42x15 cm. Signed on the quadrant, in gilded bronze, and on the back plate: Le Roy a Paris. Bazile-Charles Le Roy 1765-1839, partners with his son Charles-Louis 1794-1865, and they founded Le Roy et Fils in 1828. Paris-type movement with hour and half-hour chime via a count wheel. Suspended pendulum with blade adjustable from the quadrant (Brocot suspension). The Brocot suspension replaces the original wire one; in fine clocks, modifications often occurred to modernize it and make it more functional. A similar clock is present in the catalog of the Patrimonio Nacional (at no. 197, which illustrates those present in the collections of the King of Spain.  Translated
